Body Shaming- Thin people
This topic has been bugging me for sometime, every time we flip open a newspaper article or even see comments on someones Instagram page there's always negative comments about someones body. Hateful comments, like "oh you're too fat" or "you're too thin". You can never please anyone.
As a person who grew up thin, I've always encountered this by people everywhere. Sometimes I know people don't mean it but when you hear everyone repeating over and over again every time they see you, it gets frustrating.
A lot of people dismiss the fact that calling someone thin all the time, or telling them to "eat more" can be offensive.People don't understand that calling someone too skinny, is the same as calling someone fat.
Countless of times I have had people, asking me whether I eat at all or evening advising me to eat more. More fatty, take outs etc. I know for one thing eating take outs doesn't equate to you putting weight but does result to health problems.
Recently I was shopping at a big well known grocery store, and I purchased some fruits and other healthy snacks. Upon reaching the counter the cashier deemed in necessary for some reason to mention that I am so thin as a result of the food I buy. I didn't say nothing to her then, because some people just don't get it. I eat food- even eat very bad food, but this has resulted me having health problems so in order to control the illness I need to eat food that is good for me health wise.
Shaming people because of their body/weight whether they're big or small isn't okay, it's uncool and very hurtful.
Next time, before you type/write a hurtful comment, think.
