A week away from London

You don't realise how busy, crazy and fast paced London is till you actually take some time away from it. Over the summer, I went away for seven days to Norfolk with my family. For us Londoners, Norfolk is in the middle of no where. I was excited to be going away, but also a part of me was worried about what I'd do for seven whole days away from a busy city.
We had booked a Lodge/Lake house on cottages for you, everything seemed perfect. The place we booked was overlooking a lake, and close by there was woods where you could take morning strolls. After a long 4 hour drive, we finally made it-exhausted and hungry. I was shocked at how small the country roads were at first, but was quickly able to adjust to it.
The first thing that stuck out for me was the people. In London, wherever you go you just walk past people without and nod or smile (quite sad if you put it that way). Over there, every where you walked people smiled, and even took time to say hello. Everyone was awfully helpful as well.
As soon as we walked into the house, the first thing I did was run out to the backyard. The whole thing was so picturesque. In front of me a huge lake, ducks and swans merrily swimming around and besides me a hot tub. Most days as soon as I woke up, I used to like to sit on the decking and just stare at the ripples in the water -so calming.
Other than using the awesome Hot tub, we got to visit other places in Norfolk. After breakfast, we'd go out and have a stroll in the woods. We visited Old Hunstanton Beach, went to Sandringham County house and museum, and went Blueberry picking. It was my first time going fruit picking of any sort, the blueberries were divine and as soon as I came back to the lodge I made Blueberry Crumble ( with custard) yum.
I enjoyed my time there so much, I'd love to go back.
For those who don't live in a major city, what does it feel like when you come to a busy city?

Love and Peace
